A load house is a temporary construction which can be erected around an unloading vehicle, separate to the main building. There are several advantages to using a load house in operations. Firstly, it frees up space inside for storage. Secondly, a load house reduces the heat energy lost in traditional unloading methods, as it forms a barrier between the unloading area and the main building. Load houses can improve working conditions considerably and will help to create a more efficient operation.

To choose the right load house, operators must take into account the size of vehicles being used, the design of the building, any specific temperature requirements and the ground area available for unloading. Choose to have inside boarding, interior lighting, rood drainage, cover plates and inside condensation protection installed for added peace of mind.

Many of the load house models available come either insulated or uninsulated, depending on requirements. Some can be installed on pre-existing loading bays. Should an operator desire to save on space, there is the option to either use angled loading houses or to have multiple load houses fitted. Whichever type of load house you choose, ensure that it has a robust design to protect against both inclement weather and general wear and tear. The load house should ideally have dock-in protection, to reduce the impact of collisions. An integrated construction will help to reduce the length of time taken to install the loading house.
