The thing about haunted houses were that once you knew in your mind that it was just humans behind all the jumpscares they weren’t really all that scary. His sister had been the one to drag him along into the establishment, but somehow she had disappeared within, and Minghao was stuck debating whether to just accept the fact that she must have been spirited away and rejoice in the peace he was going to live in from now on. Alas, he doubted things were going to be that easy -- and his father definitely wouldn’t approve of a story like that either.
All the same it was an undeniable fact that right now he was alone, although it was deep within a maze of horror (or at least what was supposed to be such). He had to get out soon and enjoy the time he could have for himself to its fullest.
That was the plan at least.
So what was that sudden loud scream all about?
And why did it feel like it was coming closer to him?
