I am a versatile woman who stands strong in who I am and in what I believe. I am not easily shaken nor persuaded. I am a woman who defies gravity and wear a crown that is ever growing. The strength in my crown is not hidden yet it is similar to a chamillion. It changes its shape and even its curls. I bounce back just like the locks of my hair retract. I stretch reaching for the Lord just as my crown of glory reach toward the sky. What I look like and who I feel like may seem to be confounding I may be loud at times yet my love is deeper than you can imagine full of passion and a little bit astounding. I am a beautiful black woman who has been interweaved with many nations. And Gods purpose in me moves mountains. Like the strength in my hair running through my veins it is full of determination. I am built up and I am kept up there is not a tangle that I cannot handle. I am not hidden in wigs and weave suffocating what God has destined for me and the tracks that I lay are on a spiritual journey. Why should I hide me? When my hair defies gravity, it crowns me like a mountain and it is like royal tapestry, thick, intricate and complex. Black and beautiful lies in my tress. It is a work of art that goes wherever I go that confuses, wows and intrigues those that begin to desire what they see in me. In great length it is my glory so I refuse to neglect my covering by covering them I am a woman of Yahweh and a wife who prays that dishonor does not see me. I long for the day to be on bended knee meeting the feet of Yeshua, just to be in His presence surrounded by His love. I wonder would I be able with my hair to wipe His feet? What an honor that would be. I will stand before him naturally embracing and loving who He has made me to be. A black woman who has faith when she prays, who is destined for a journey that sometimes she can't even see, a builder of many nations, a mountain mover, a woman who is strengthened through the valley, defying gravity naturally and beautifully. I am a woman of Yah full of determination building up women of nations, tired of self segregation... #MyHairDefysGravity #WOG #HairChronicles #LMarie #MyHairIsMyCrown THIS POEM MAY NOT BE REPRODUCED (at DeLand, Florida)
