i think part of the reason why the sibcon stuff in saiki k bothers me is because normally if I watched an anime and the subject was introduced i’d just quit watching the show (I almost quit reading the manga tbh) but Saiki k was legit good and funny and I liked the characters. So it was sort of a shock to me I guess when like 20 chapters or so in Teruhashi’s brother is revealed to be a creepy pervert. So I’m like… well that really sucks but let’s move on I guess… hopefully he doesn’t show up much later on… and he does for like the weirdest possible reason (shopping trip with saiki??) But then he disappears again. And then we meet Saiki senior and he’s a creepy asshole too. After his introduction I took a moment of what the fuck I think. Actually I vaguely remember feeling nauseous and I think I made a tumblr post about it wondering if the author MEANT for Kuusuke to come across that creepy or if I was going nuts. Anyways. I thought at some point the author would have Saiki adress this in some way but he’s just indifferent for the most part to Teruhashi’s stalker brother and doesn’t care. And he avoids his own brother because he’s a psycho. At the end of the day yeah they’re all just characters but imo it’s an exceedingly annoying way of writing them
