It was late afternoon when Elith decided that she would take a walk outside. So far, she had made quite a few friends, and hoped that she could maybe meet a few more on her stroll. Elith walked over to her mirror, which the administration had thankfully allowed her to mount a couple feet higher than normal, and pulled her hair up into a very messy bun before she walked outside.Â
However, when she walked outside she did not feel the usual joy that sunlight and nature brought her. Instead, she felt quite sad. Depressed was a better word. She just wanted to go back inside and avoid everyone else. Elith noticed that others seemed to be acting strange, but she attributed it to her own mood playing tricks on her.Â
Elith headed back to her room, and when she closed her door, she just slid down and sat on the floor for a moment. She thought that maybe her studying had finally taken a toll on her. Her hooves were very sore, like she had begun to founder.Â
She turned over on her side from a sitting position to lying down, and fiddled with her fingernails. She noticed they were dirty and very uneven. Elith wondered when she had stopped grooming herself as well as she usually had. She noted that next week was probably time for her pedicurist to come again. She didnât even feel like calling him and scheduling the appointment. It was just going to be loud and time consuming, and he always had to make extra large shoes for her.Â
Elith decided that she had done enough thinking for today, and decided that she would just take a nap.Â
