Congratulations to these young men, Hawaii’s Little League World Series 2022 Champions! Hawaii is so very proud of you all!! Keep being phenomenal!! ••••• I almost missed the parade held in their honor this afternoon. It went along parts of North & South King Streets as I only managed to catch a distant glimpse of a portion of a marching band passing through the nearby intersection while on a patrol at work. So grateful I work close enough to walk to Honolulu Hale (our City Hall) on my lunch break. It was a bit hot out but worth the walk on this beautiful sunny Thursday. I got to see some familiar people and say Hi to a few while enjoying ice cream & a small plate of kalua pig & cabbage with rice! I even saw & greeted the new Honolulu Police Chief, Arthur “Joe” Logan, who seemed to have an odd look in response. 🤔 I couldn’t tell if he might have been thrown off by my white AUS Services uniform, or my phenomenal enthusiasm & excitement in just seeing him in real life. 🤷🏽♀️ I believe that was Deputy Chief Keith Horikawa with him, too. •• #ThankYou •• Mahalo to @meadowgoldhawaii for the ice cream. Mahalo to those who provided & served the kalua pig and cabbage. Mahalo to the local band from Molokai who performed live music on stage - in the hot sun. So grateful for the show of support within our community for their phenomenal accomplishment. I pray we will see & strive to celebrate more great moments in our neighborhoods.
