pretty much my feelings on the matter too. like i don't already feel enough that my content isn't interesting so this just feels really iffy to me. not mad, just... sad i guess.

HAHAHA my good children. Oh boy, that’s a story!

It isn’t the case on-site, but Aiden is supposed to be the first-born kid from Fox and Erin (I sold their first and only nest, and regret it to this day, esp not keeping a kid, so I bred some lore replacements :^) he’s holding the spot of the one named firestar or something) 

BUT ANYWAY. That nest was an accident and a mess, and while Fox was noping away for Reasons, Erin was so gotdamn lost he gave the kids to the Cloudsong Thieves Guild, who also had raised him, bc that’s what he thought was best as the time. Now that he’s grown a lot and has become a father again, this time doing way better, he has quite a bit of Regrets(tm) over that. It also shattered his relationship with Fox and its never really healed from it, so yknow. There’s that.

Aiden, on his side, has heard about his dad (bc duh, they’re part of the same guild), and is??? Weirdly bitter @ him?? He has Questions and is about to go and try to find Erin to get his answers. And I’m super excited for those plots \o/

One of Aiden’s brothers is also about to go and meet Erin’s younger, darling daughter, Asha (they’re both owned by @daringdragons) and I can’t wait for that either.

a n r a i :: the blacksmith

Not only a blacksmith, but the in-house jeweler, Anrai melts and molds metals with the help of his bound forge spirit Kagutsuchi. With Kagutsuchi in the forge, Anrai needs nothing but his tools and materials to hone his craft, as Kagutsuchi burns eternal by Anrai’s anvil.

Appearance wise, Anrai has no lack of golden piercings (that he made himself, of course), and his sunset-red hair is tied up in a bun. It’s messy more often than not, but stray hairs that could get in the way are safely tucked out of sight. He is usually found in his forge, but when he’s not there, he slaves over a different fire helping out with the abbey’s daily meals.

Towards the dancers Anrai is the experienced professional, consulted by them when they need jewelry made for one of their own. On rare occasion apprentices are brought to him, and he does some consulting on the jewelry that will adorn their formal, graduated dancer attire.

For those who protect the abbey, Anrai is responsible for their relatively small store of weapons, and their upkeep. Regardless, he’s skilled in forging them, as there isn’t much else for him to do but practice. Some fighters like Hyacinth take a light apprenticeship under him, learning the skills of a blacksmith in their free time at their own pace.

Occasionally he will work with an enchanter when more specialized metalwork is needed.

This for me happens when people change their names here. I see the post, I see the old name next to the new one, but I can’t remember it. It’s always shocking to find out someone “new” is actually someone familiar :D

Kinda curious, does the tablet have tech problems or is it just a matter of getting used to it? bc I have an old intuos that I like and I’m getting really hesitant about switching to a newer one when hearing people talk about those.

not sure. this is the first time i’ve had issues with it, and i suspect that it’s because i left it plugged in while my pc updated recently (usually i only plug the tablet in when i’m using it). restarting the pc fixed it just fine! i had far more problems with my old bamboo, but that could be fixed without restarting (just wiping the preferences)

5. List 3 fears; one “surface level” fear, one “repressed”fear, and one “deep dark” fear.

“Surface” Fear – Like most ridgebacks, Io’s afraid of water.Even though she’s a warer dragon by birth, she has Lladamedhellen blood,meaning she has no elemental magic, so unlike other water dragons she stillruns the risk of drowning. She also doesn’t like the way it slows her down andmake fighting more difficult.

“Repressed” Fear – She fears her own sickness. HerLladamedhellen blood that she takes such pride in poisons her, makes her weak.She’s small and frail, and retches up blood often. More than anything, Io hatesto appear wear in front of others. To counter this, she trains almostconstantly so her muscles don’t atrophy as quickly, but she also has a littlehelp from Bitya’s magic and biological knowledge.

“Deep Dark” Fear – That she’ll never step out of her mother’sshadow. Lockheed was a powerful Lladamedhellen warrior, and a figurehead beloved by herpeople. It’s complicated, but Io both resents and admires her. Her admirationis what drives her to train so hard, to follow in her footsteps, but over timebegan to resent her for being so hard to live up to.

Io wasn’t born with her mother’s powers, and like most in the Lladamedhellenbloodline, was born sickly. She believes she should have those powers by divineright, and resents Europa for her pacifism and Ganymede for having the magicthat belongs to her. Their disregard for their warrior-hood makes her hatethem.

Her biggest fear is that she’ll never be good enough to be a memorable warrior,because despite everything she does, she wants to do good, like her mother, butdeep down she knows she cannot be redeemed.

25. Have they ever been betrayed by someone they thoughtthey could trust?

Io has an inferiority complex a mile wide, so takes everyminor slight against her as a betrayal.

Her mother betrayed her by taking Lis-Mirolu as her second in command and nother. Her God Lladamedhellen betrayed her by not giving her it’s blessings. Hersister Europa betrayed their bloodline by not becoming a warrior as all their familydo, and choosing pacifism. Her brother Ganymede betrayed her by being born withthe magic she wants but being too weak and pathetic to use them the way theywere meant to be used; the way she would’ve used them.

However, the biggest betrayal comes from Ahkoolah. Growing up, Io and Ahkoolahwere best friends, and in their teenage years developed slight romanticfeelings for one another.

Ahkoolah was the only person Io would show weakness to; ‘Koolah knew all of Io’sdreams, secrets and fears, but when ‘Koolah found out what Io had done toGanymede, she still left her, and Io takes that as the worst betrayal of themall.

35. If they could change one thing about themselves, whatwould it be?

If you asked her, she would tell yout hat she’s want to beborn stronger, to be born with the magic and power that she’s always wanted,because all her problems stem from that.

Truth is, what she really wants is the ability to just be a good person, powersor no.

Europa

25. Have they ever been betrayed by someone they thoughtthey could trust?

Europa is so detached from other people, she’s never putenough trust in anybody for them to betray her.

35. If they could change one thing about themselves, whatwould it be?

She’s probably change herself to be okay with being alone.

She’s too afraid to be close with anyone, but doesn’t resent herself to beingso independent. She’d rather take away the bad feelings rather than change whoshe is fundamentally.

“Surface” Fear – Sickness. Like Io, she was born weak, withno outward magic beyond what a dragon needs to stay alive. It seems she gotlucky though, showing now major physical or mental issues throughout her likeso far.

However, she knows she’s vulnerable and fears that, a fear that manifestsmostly as an extreme dislike or dirt. As of current, it doesn’t reach an OCDlevel of fear, she just prefers cleanliness in an attempt to lessen her chancesof catching a disease that she wouldn’t be able to handle well.

Both her body and her fears seem to be getting worse though.

“Repressed” Fear – Io. She doesn’t fear her sister as muchas her brother, Ganymede, does, but she’s seen how Io lashes out and it scaresher.

For the most part, she deals with her fear by avoiding Io and her home as muchas possible, and has managed to repress her fear enough that she can sometimesact sisterly towards her, even going as far as to tease her on occasion.

“Deep Dark” Fear – That what Io says about her is true – She’snot a pacifist, she’s a coward. She’s too afraid to fight, too afraid to be awarrior like all her family before her, too afraid of the responsibility ofbeing important to others.

She’ll never be close to anyone because she’s too afraid of sharing herfeelings, too afraid to trust, too afraid of getting hurt.
