Today, for the first time in seven years, I’ll be walking back from the school run alone. Today I’ll walk into my house and there will be silence. Actual, silence. I’ll pick up my laptop and won’t be disturbed for snacks 3245 times before I’ve written my first paragraph. I’ll be able to paint without little hands trying to add their own mark on my work. They’ll be no one to follow me to the loo or pull my hair when I’m on a call. I won’t have to share my lunch and I’ll actually get to drink a tea while it’s still hot. Will I miss the chaos? Naaaahhhh 😅 I will miss Ed of course, he’s been joined at my hip since the day he was born. But I won’t cry. I’ll be thinking about him all day; the trouble he’s causing and how many times he has to wash his hands because god forbid he get so much as a speck of dirt on them. I’ll also keep my phone right next to me because let’s be fair; if Ed decides to be the Ed we all know and love, that poor school is going to be in for a real shock 😂 can he handle a full 6 hrs away from me? Doubtful. Will he be on his best behaviour throughout the day? Impossible! It’s a big day of change for the both of us but I’m sure, we’ll both be just fine 💙 PS. My big two are back at school today - so it’s back to just me and little Ed 🙌🏻 only until Monday though, then he’ll be off to nursery too!
