okay so to answer you @tkiesai, I thought it would be good to make a proper post about it! My thoughts about the patron thing is as follows:
Legendary pokemon are considered gods/deities with dominion over certain aspects of the realm, very basic stuff here, moving on. Humans who have a huge spike in their typing is favored by one or more of the legendary pokemon that corresponds with their type.
These humans are referred to as "Gifted" and are usually the ones who can communicate with these legendaries and are often devoted, think Adaman and Irida except with more connection to Dialga and Palkia's elements.
Sometimes, the Gifted are called upon by their favored legendary to do tasks, given major boons and abilities and are then referred to as "Chosen" or "Heroes", think Akari and Arceus for example. Each legendary has at least one Chosen at a given time when they are able to or at least a Gifted that they can communicate with.
Othertimes, the Gifted are assigned tasks that help with maintaining the balance of the world, but only if the legendary thinks the human trustworthy enough and become a third thing that most people don't know called "Bonded"
The Bonded have an extra very cool thing they can do: give the literal gods of the real head pats and scritches. Maybe a cuddle here and there.
I'm still working things out actually so I'm open to workshopping this! Its been fun tho!!
Oh! And for the record, Ingo is Giratina's Bonded (they are besties your honor) and Emmet is Arceus' (they're... affectionately hostile? Idk how to explain it lmao)
