Hi (this is Tezca from the CoT server btw) I just got curious after reading one had the recent posts about GO you made, what were the glaring differences then between the book boys and the tv boys? I already seen some write about it months ago but I forgot what they were except that Book Crowley was the one that figured out the location and actually went to Tadfield instead of a pub first. I dunno if that right, havenāt gotten to that part of the book yet
My first impulse as I read your ask was to do a detailed write-up, but when I got to the end and saw that youāre in the process of reading the book, that gave me pause. Youāre going to spot the differences soon enough. Broadly speaking, the major ones are that the show rendered Aziraphale far less hard-edged than heās capable of being when push comes to shove, and it rendered Crowley asā¦more callous is not quite it. He suggests some things in the show that, per the book, he would never suggest in a million years (like that the Antichrist should be killed; in the book, that is squarely Aziraphaleās idea and initiative). Crowley bringing the dove Aziraphale kills back to life is absent in the show, too. Itās a number of what I see as intensely crucial moments, which speak to their intrinsic character, that are absent or altered beyond recognition in the show.
