this might sound really weird, but my main issue with archery atm is that i just. don't aim. a lot of the time. at first, i thought it might be a lack of arm strength, and i think that's likely a factor when i've been shooting for a while already. but mostly i think i just. feel the compulsion to let go? legitimately, when there's no arrow in the bow and i draw it back, i'm fine. but the instant there's an arrow in there, i just need to let go. i need to shoot something. . what.
my best theories are some weird instinct, impatience, and pent-up frustration/rage. probably some odd mixture of the three. i'm so repressed and my brain runs on overdrive to the point that i eventually can't focus when i'm shooting - i'm just fucking singing Never Gonna Give You Up to myself and plotting some weird elaborate story and firing in the general direction of the target in quick succession 💀 - and i guess i just need to do some damage to something. bite and tear for once in my life. it would be nice if it didn't literally prevent me from aiming a lot of the time. i hate it actually. can it stop. i would very much like to be good at archery !!
