LitComm inaugurates the Quizzing Championship with Marque, the Brand Quiz!
The MQC (MICA Quizzing Championship) is one of the most awaited events of the year. For over three years, LitComm, the Literary Committee at MICA, has been conducting this quizzing event, making it more innovative and engaging with each passing year. The long hours spent in front of the television and countless minutes spent browsing through magazines and newspapers are put to test. Quizzes on brands, television, India, the sports and entertainment quiz (SPENT) and ultimately, the Mega Quiz are held throughout the year. The quizzes consist of several interesting and thought-provoking rounds with surprises and twists.
Marque witnessed a full house. After a demanding preliminary round and a few tie breakers, the top six teams battled it out in the finale. The finale consisted of four gruelling rounds, each more intense than the other and included several innovative rounds. The round âConnect the Dotsâ involved recognizing popular brandsâ logo colours and an image that represented the brand. In the âDingbatsâ round participants were expected to recognize brands using imagery and visuals that conveyed the taglines of famous brands whereas in the âAnagramsâ round, they were to unscramble the anagram with the help of a clue e.g. âTHE NUTâS NAMED ERICâ is owned by Glazer stood for Manchester United.
The competition ended with a nail biting finish with Team Quickzers (Neel and Mudit â PGP 2) claiming victory and Team Citrus Acid (Sukhada and Aditya â PGP 2) finishing a close second. Marque was not just limited to the quiz participants but it also engaged the audience with challenging questions and exciting goodies. There was also a prize for the best and worst team names. The battle may have concluded but the war has just begun....more exigent quizzes lie ahead to challenge MICAnsâ grey cells.
