'I got your note,' Merlin said, lifting one hand in the air with the scrap of paper slotted between wrinkled fingers. 'Though why you couldn't have just told me through the bathroom door, I don't know.'
Smiling, Leon sat on the bench beside them and held out a coffee. 'It was more fun that way.'
'You know how I feel about reading on the toilet.' Merlin pocketed the note and took the coffee from him, ring clinking against the metal as they loosened the lid. Steam billowed up from the cup, condensing in the cool air, and Merlin blew gently on the contents. 'The usual?'
'As if we're not both creatures of habit,' Leon warmly replied, taking a sip of his own drink. 'Speaking of which...'
At a nod towards them, Merlin discerned his meaning and rolled their eyes. 'Is it really essential for me to reverse it as soon as you're with me?'
Beginning with a curse as he took more of a gulp than a sip and burned his tongue, Leon shook his head. 'You know that I can't stand in the way of you doing as you please, nor would I want to. I just like seeing you as you are.'
'Boy, you know how to make a person go weak at the knees,' Merlin quipped. 'Anyway, you know people are less likely to talk to what they assume is an old man than they are to talk to a hot piece of ass.'
Leon choked on his coffee.
