So I’ve been watching a lot of clips of people being perplexed by some of the words in the lyrics of the latest TS album, and I have to wonder - do I just have a ridiculous vocabulary? Like, I haven’t had to look up any of the words she’s used. And I’ve understood the literary references and the themes reflected in them, even if I’m not able to recite Hamlet.
Is this just a side effect of reading all the time? I’ve absorbed massive quantities of language and references without noticing it?
And I realize that most of my tumblr mutuals are also avid readers and writers, so maybe this isn’t the best crowd to pose these questions to, but I don’t have any desire to log into the other spaces.
