  Chloe knew where her excessive drinking would eventually lead too, granted she had no idea how bad the dreams would become. She wasn't even sure if she had made it to her bed or if she didn't pass out right then and there in the junk shack while she was getting intoxicated. All she knew was that when she woke up it was a familiar setting, but it was not the kind of lucid dreams she was used to. The tall punk could feel and sense the world around her however there was nothing but darkness and a bright orange glow not far from where she was standing now.

"What?"

    She breathed out in question to herself mostly, as if she were trying to keep herself from slipping into the facade of this false reality she had awoken into.

   Chloe turned her torso some and looked about herself as if trying to get a sense of direction in this dream world. She eventually chose to walk continuously toward the direction of the orange colored glow that was emanating from off in the distance. She walked for what felt like years and just when she nearly gave up because the distance to the glow seemed to never close she was there. Surrounded by the heat of the flames as they licked up the trees and danced above the canopy casting an orange glow around the area in its entirety.

"No fucking way…"

  Chloe spoke to herself as she walked around the tree she had seen Rachel burned down years ago. Why were the dreams taking her here now? What did all of this even mean?  Chloe was only just starting to no longer have the long dreams of wisdom with her father, so why now was she back at this place. It was almost a natural reflex for Chloe to call out for her father, since she usually ended up seeing him in these kind of settings within her tormented dreams. However as she called out she heard and saw nothing in return other than the constant glow of the trees burning around her.  It didn’t make sense to the cerulean haired punk that she was in this sort of setting and what it was going to signify. Usually her dreams involving her father had some sort of therapeutic outcome, no matter how dark they got. So what was going to be therapeutic about this forest fire? It was almost as if the moment her mind crossed over the thought it became real before her eyes.

    At first all Chloe caught the sight of was the color of her hair, taking that moment to let her gaze search over the blonde’s face before it locked on the girls eyes who was now standing before her. Chloe was frozen with her jaw slightly unhinged. It was as if she had seen a ghost, or someone from a past she had all but nearly forgotten. It had been a year since Max and Chloe came across the remains of what was once the girl now standing in front of her in this lucid dream. The world, and whatever else lied beyond it was a cruel and unforgiving place, Chloe couldn’t even inhale to breath as she felt herself going numb while she stood there completely still as, Rachel, or what was a representation of the dead girl spoke. The world she was forced into began to spin slowly around her as she collapsed to her knees due to the loss of her composure.

“No…”

    It was all the rebel could manage as she could feel the tears begin to fill the edges of her eyelids. She felt nearly dead herself sitting there at her partner’s feet while she questioned if she was lost as well. It was evident that Rachel had no idea where she was, then again Chloe had no idea either. Yet something was wrong, Chloe could see in the girl’s eyes that she looked at the taller girl differently now. There was no longer a look of longing, just a look of confusion and hope. It made Chloe sick as she closed her eyes placing her hand over her head and gripping the back of her dark colored beanie while she tried to process everything that was unfolding in this nightmare. 

  The words breath of fresh air caused Chloe to inhale a shaken breath as if it were a command or a reminder to breath. It gave her a moment of focus and she managed to make eye contact with Rachel’s panicked eyes. She listened as best as she could while still being down on her knees looking defeated by the dream in its entirety. Once the beautiful teen idol began to stammer on Chloe stood carefully before placing her hands against the shorter girl’s shoulder as if to calm her and also gain her attention in one passive move.

“You, will never be able to leave this place…at least we won’t be able to leave it together…I can’t help you.”
