In honor of the fall vibes, I drew over a photo of me from about this time last year. This is my liripipe hoodie, which I made. Happy Fall!
Just got back from opening night of midwinter Revels (Boston area)
This year’s show is excellent, a real classic
this is the context with which I say:
Laurel Swift is so talented, she makes an ass-length liripipe look genuinely menacing
My sense of joy does increase when I draw little animals

Medieval (300-1300)
A liripipe hood (also known as a cornette) is a fitted hood that has a long tube of fabric hanging down from the crown of the hood. Most liripipes include a short shoulder cape.
Images above are from Woven into the Earth by Else Ostergard. The first hood (restored) was originally white. The second hood had a grey warp/white weft and is one of the better preserved hoods from the time.

there were discussions (between pilferingapples and oilan, i believe?) of jehan wearing a liripipe, which looked really familiar when i did an image search and i couldn't quite figure out why. then i remembered that that it's part of the homestuck heir god tier costume, which of course led to me looking up 20 different god tier quizzes and explanations until i settled on the proper aspect for jehan (because i am still homestuck trash, just very lowkey homestuck trash). it was either going to be heart or void, so i went with heart. mostly because void is a bit too abstract and sort of villain-y, while heart is being in tune with your emotions and i feel that's more jehan.
