#lipstick!verse

Her employer was already calling her back.  With an internal sigh, Nori made a brief detour to collect another glass of champagne for the man before returning to his side.  This one wasn’t so bad.  A little naive, but not a bad person, with a love of spending his money.  But a job is a job.

It wasn’t long before Bifur rejoined the party.  Her eyes were focused as she scanned the crowd and Nori could feel her pulse pick up.  Kissing the older woman had not been part of the plan for tonight.  Nori hadn’t even known the artist was in the washrooms when she had gone to touch up her lipstick.

Despite her excitement at being alone with Bifur Broadbeam, Nori was a professional.  The artist had clearly come to get away from everyone else and Nori wouldn’t disturb her solitude.  Though Nori may have taken her time reapplying her lipstick so she could watch the other in the mirror as she undid her elaborate hairdo.  She had been about to leave when her impulses got the best of her.  At least Bifur did look better with Nori’s red lipstick and more comfortable with her hair down.

When the artist’s eyes panned closer to Nori, she took a smooth step to put her boss between them.  The rest of the evening turned into a game of cat and mouse with Bifur searching the crowd and Nori being not quite ready to face up to her impulsiveness.  She was almost caught at the end of the night, after Bifur enlisted the help of her cousin; Nori was sure that Bofur got a good look at her and who she was with as they were leaving.

It was nearly the end of the day.  And nearly the end of Nori’s time here; she had filled her contract and was only staying a few days more.  She was not expecting the door of the office to open to Bifur Broadbeam.

She was carrying package, likely something her employer purchased, looking much more comfortable in casual clothes and her hair a little wilder without the product.  Seeing her again was not something Nori had expected after she hadn’t heard anything after the night at the gallery; she had been sure Bofur got a good enough look to figure out who she was.

The artist headed straight for Nori’s desk.  Eyes filled with determination stayed fix on her.  Feeling just a bit in shock, Nori felt a smile pull at the corners of her lips, painted a pretty pink today.  The smile may have been a touch predatory but it was the best Nori could manage at the moment. 

The package was put down on Nori’s desk as Bifur passed it on the way to her side.  There was barely a moment where Nori felt her cheeks start to heat up before the older woman leaned down and kissed her.  Hard.  And deep and very well.

Her eyes had closed and when Nori open them again, Bifur and her package were missing.  Nori supposed she deserved that after last time.
