One of th things we are trying to do is to hear some live music while we are in Europe. Tonight we went and heard the following in the TEMPIO S. GIACOMO MAGGIORE, in Piazza Rossini (cut and pasted from the online programme): Wednesday, May 21 at 9.00pm CAPPELLA MUSICALE DI SAN GIACOMO MAGGIORE e TEATRO ANTICO Donatella Ricceri musics: Guglielmo Lipparini; voices: Fabio Galliani, Marco Castellucci, Nicolò Roda; lute: Roberto Cascio. Short story of the most unique actions blessed Rita da Cascia nun of the Order of St. Augustine taken from authentic Scriptures and the Process of Beatification. As well as the lute, there was a Viola da Gamba continuo, and one of the pieces was an instrumental, with one of the singers switching to very nice descant recorder playing. In between the pieces was a recount of the life of a Saint Rita da Cascia, in very expressive and clear Italian - but which sadly we didn't understand.
