I KNOW RHIS SOUNDS WEIRD but I always thought it was something that would make sense— considering all hes been through like the whole phantom champion line, (idk if you share this specific view that im referring to but the relationship with Professor Oak,) that one like from pmex where he says “I felt so beat down, physically and mentally, that I didnt think I could keep going,” and the whole Red on Mt.Silver for god knows how long thing
