I didn’t know I had a brother. Father never mentioned anything about him when I had first awoken; and though I suppose I knew that he would have had to create a replacement I didn’t expect to see him do such a thing in what seems like a short period of time. Perhaps the man’s eager to die.

As for my brother, he’s... a sorry case. That child seems to think his father is the greatest man alive. Thinks that his ‘friends’ are going to be with him forever. That kid has a lot to learn about real life. About the people he’s around. About humans.

They never really accept reapers. They can act like it all they want but they’ll never fully do that. I’ll pity the child the day he learns that. I once suffered a fate the same. But I learned my lesson. I didn’t get too attached. This child, though? His attachment transcends what he should feel. It’s borderline saddening. Setting himself up for the inevitable failure. It’s odd. He hasn’t yet learned that it’s so much better to be genuinely feared than it is to have falsely cared for. Fear always prevails. Petty things like friendship fall through.
