To add to your comment, there's quite a large group of people who are against the monarchy because they don't *do* much as such (like the parliament) but they do cost a lot of money (in the sense of 'they're taking our taxes', you know). Definitely true! There is a sense of ‘we don’t see them so we don’t think about them’ that also leads to the hatred/annoyance because they do nothing that really impacts Dutchies/the normal people. Very good point!

For an exercise suggestion: try rope skipping! It's meant to be really good for you but personally I just prefer doing it over a run because it's less boring. Anyway, regarding the anxiety and intrusive thoughts: I've been there, it does get better. I guess the goal isn't to get rid of them entirely but just to minimize them and then know what to do when they do pop up once in a while!!

I always loved rope skipping! When I broke my foot I stopped and living in Amsterdam, in a teeny tiny apartment, with a neighbour that hates your guts for no reason.. I have never picked my rope up again 😅 But I'll definitely dust it off and see if I can find a place outside that isn't too crowded! Thank you!

Also, I think I've come to terms with the idea of always living with my anxiety/intrusive thoughts. They won't disappear, I just need to re-learn how to create an army against them. You need to have 'dark days' every once in a while, just like this earth needs rain every so often (or the whole summer if you live in our country 😂)
