*sigh* I just found out that, apparently, a few months ago, Limustheslime (the person who made the awful Angel Dust video that basically ruined the online reputation of Hazbin Hotel Lily Orchard style) apparently returned to making videos and having an online presence about half a year after the massive document exposing her for being incredibly irresponsible around minors... Naive of me to think she was gone for good after that.
Like, come the fuck on, did you really fuckin' think we'd forget??? The Internet doesn't forget and they especially don't forget shit like that!
Newer people might be wondering "Whoa where is this post coming room? Why are you bringing up Limus??" And for context I have been very openly critical of Limustheslime ever since the bizzare ass convention stunt she pulled with Alex Brightman and have continously been so ever since. It's just most of it was made before I gained any sort of decent audience in the wider Hazbin space, and the huge nail in the coffin drama with her discord server also happened before I gained any sort of influence in this space, too. The last post I made months ago was what I thought would be the last massive post I'd ever make about her... I hate that I was wrong. So I kinda feel like I have to address this due to the simple history of me doing so.
The really bad video about Angel Dust has been the least of my concerns with her for a very long time by now, and even though I think her reasonings make no sense and are completely and utterly bad faith, and while I do use her reasoning as a wider way to voice my utter frustration with overall bullshit purity culture, they are also a survivor at the end of the day, and I'm not going to scream at her that she can't feel harmed and offended by it. I'll be open in firmly disagreeing in her reasonings, but I will respect her stance on not liking it solely because they are a fellow survivor, and I will NOT tolerate anyone who accuses her of not being a survivor. Now, if Limus wasn't a survivor, I'd 110% be way more harsh on her and her video, but I'm rambling at this point.
The number one thing that always pissed me the fuck off about her is they did not and frankly has NEVER had done the same for survivors who DO feel seen, and constantly shames and belittles those who feel seen and claims that anyone who didn't cope the way she does, which she views as the right way, is unwell and needs help. The moment I found out about this... Along with, you know, the convention stunt... All my respect for her was thrown out the window. The only thing I have and will always respect is that she is a fellow survivor and she has the right to not feel seen by Angel... And that's it.
Limus not much younger than me and both she and I are more than old enough to know that her behavior is beyond bizarre and hypocritical at best, and downright offensive and repulsive at worst, and if they really think they can just pop back up outta nowhere and act like nothing happened than there is really no more hope for her.
Believe it or not, I would be lying if I said I never held out hope for them in the past. For one, again, they are literally not much younger than me. I think they're like a year or two younger? Don't remember exactly. I'm only 22 for context, and we're not exactly that old in the grand scheme of things, even compared to other chronically online people.
They were a young content creator especially when she started, she must've not been much older than 18 when she got her foot in the door, and a lot of younger adults and older teens have that phase of playing pretend activism, and that includes the older members of Gen Z and millennials. I know I definitely did and it took wayyy too long for me to come to my senses and come out publicly about it. I lost a lot of mutuals because of it.
But back to the point, I am fully serious when I say that no matter how harsh I got in the past (before the discord doc) I was always geninuely hoping she'd be a Cartoonshi/Mr. Enter case where she actually did improve and I could deeply respect her for it. Both Cartoonshi and Mr. Enter are actually two of my favorite cartoon reviewers nowadays, up there with my personal goat, Sciafffrillas. Despite everything and all the horseshit I DID see some light of true potential for her to become an actually great cartoon reviewer if given time for her to grow up and mature, since I had seen it before, twice, and those two content creators hold my absolute respect for being able to redeem themselves in my eyes and become legitimately great people who hold themselves accountable and do strive to do better, especially with Mr. Enter.
Unfortunately, all that was also just thrown in the garbage when that massive google doc dropped about her, which contained a long list of what ai would describe as absolutely irresponsible, bizarre, and completely and utterly hypocritical behavior in her discord server that had minors. Not made any better by the fact that she explicitly advertised. It was a safe space for them.
Now, I absolutely would not go as far to call her a pedo, looking at you blackishh... I have no idea what the fuck that guy's deal is to be frank or how he was even getting along with both Limus and Pink AT ALL considering how much he constantly proves he is a huge asshole to both Viv and hellaverse fans who present reasonable criticism of his often shitty behavior. Pink at least seems like a reasonable person even if I think he has no idea what he's talking about most of the time in his videos. However, I would absolutely call what Limus was doing grooming, even if you could make the arugement that she was just a fucking idiot and didn't realize what she was doing. And honestly I do think Limus was just a fucking idiot and geninuely didn't realize how grossly negligent and irresponsible her and her friends behavior in that discord server was.
I actually think the one of the worst thing in there was her legitimately harrassing a young minor who asked for them to NOT send pictures of cars because they had literally fucking just been hit by a car... And then Limus just SPAMMED them in their face in response. Like, that would be fucked up even if it was another adult... They did that to a fucking child. Like, excuse me, what the actual fuck?? That is just plain horrible and an asshole thing to do.
I was glad she left the Internet after that, because there really is no coming back from that, but y'know, I did actually hope they would have better future off the Internet, at the bare minimum. Take the time to detox and find a better path in life... but now I hate to say I'm even MORE disappointed in her for thinking she can just come back and act like nothing ever happened. It's just pitiful. I have no idea why she thought that was a good idea. Like, Limus, you are aware when it comes to what happened in your discord... There really isn't any coming back from that? Like, it's over, my man. You're cooked.
Like I don't even think I can stay mad or frustrated anymore with them at this point... I'm just very saddened and disappointed that she hasn't changed a bit. At the bare minimum if she was going to come back and try to build up a online career again... She should, you know, actually try and be a better person, apologize, instead of popping up again and acting like nothing ever happened? That is the worst method you could approach this shit with, and you really shouldn't have even bothered at all.
And for the record, I know I've been very VERY harsh on Limus in the past even WAY before the discord shit came to light, and I still do stand by the belief I was TOO harsh on her before the discord shit dropped, and have gotten carried away at multiple points. And I am more than well aware that I am NOT completely innocent in getting pissed off at people, getting too passionate about dumb things often to my own fault, and also unleashing unhinged posts and takes without thinking twice over petty chronically online bullshit.
I am well aware of this about myself, and often end up geninuely regretting it. Like, honestly, a lot of my posts from a few months ago around when Season 2 was airing I really do regret the overly harsh tone I often used, even if I do still agree with the point(s) I made. It wasn't mature of me at all, it was never mature of me, and I am genuinely sorry for those sorts of posts where my tone was way too harsh and I got geninuely reckless, and I have made an effort to hold back as much as I can and just not be a immature jerk over dumb things, which I'm sure is easily noticable.
Considering the fact that my parents were literally illegally detained and my younger brother illegally put into foster care recently, despite the fact that everything seems its gonna work out with that situation (too long and personal to explain) it was definitely a HUGE wake up call that there are FAR bigger things to get upset and pissed off over than the stupid shit I was making constant rant posts which were often in a harsh and unhinged tone a few months ago.
I'm 22 years old, and I absolutely should know better than to act like that, even without that serious wakeup call that happened a week ago. And I'll be transparent that I can't promise I won't ever relapse and end up spewing out some stupid shit over dumbass takes ever again, but I am aware of the fact that I can and will lose my temper and need to work on it. Typically after given some time to cool off, I will come to my senses as I have in the past.
I'm not perfect nor will I never be perfect, and I'm not going to lie and say I've never done anything wrong or have gotten too heated and angry over dumb shit. I heavily value honesty and transparency and people being brave enough to put themselves in vurnable positions even if they're afraid to in the absolute cesspool of toxicity that is the Internet, and I feel like that has been completely lost with a lot of other Internet folk. I can firmly say that I am not afraid to admit when I have fucked up and when I know I'm wrong about something... And will apologize and listen to criticism so long as it is delivered in a constructive way. Even people who are massive assholes I am able to respect for just being honest about openly being an asshole and not trying to claim they are not an asshole.
And that is why people like Limus piss me off, you can't act like you care about real serious issues people face when you basically never take criticism about your behavior, even if it is polite, and turn around act like you're always 100% in the right and as if you're better than everyone else. It's increasingly becoming hardee to find transparency and honesty in online content creation nowadays, whether the accoumt is posting as hobby OR professionally.
Limus... Just please get off the Internet and stay away. You had your shot at a promising career with a very turbulent start, and yet you absolutely blew it in every single way possible.
If you are somehow reading this, Limus, I don't expect much from you if you choose to respond to be frank.
The only thing that would impress me is if you actually didn't respond the way you always do to callout posts or criticism of you as a person.
I really hope this is the last statement I'll ever make on Limustheslime. I wished my last one was going to always be the last. I don't expect this post to really gain any traction, but I personally feel it would be a disservice if I didn't make this post even if nobody cares about what I have to say here.
