I remember some non Americans were complaining about Americans bragging about their exchange rate with JPY right now, and all their impulse buying, and I thought it kinda overblown and 'well who cares' back then. Well, just found out I lost out on a Japanese limited doll item, but an American person wins it, and they said 'well I didn't really want the doll that much but it was so cheap cos of the exchange rate so I couldn't help it XD'. Ok I understand now!! Bitch! I actually wanted that and you admitted you didn't! Don't waste all your money just because it's 'cheap', what's your problem? Yes I'm cranky that I missed the limited item, but would have been less if my opponents actually want it for reasons other than 'wow so cheap'. How envious to be so privileged that expensive items become pocket change. You are very lucky, but it does not mean you should just buy everything and brag and gloat on discord. It gives such a negative and greedy feeling.

So, I like a set of clothes. The issues is the clothes is limited edition. So, do you buy clothes to fit a doll or do you buy doll to fit clothes? Which is your priority and how it changed your plans from before?

I kinda don't get the complaint about limited doll releases. I mean, uhhh, that's literally what most fields of sale do at some point. It seems like people flip their lid more when it comes to BJD's and talk shit about this, than when it happens elsewhere. Clothing brands, foods, accessories, and so on. Limited time only isn't rare, and some places have less of a justifiable reason than others tbh, like companies working with sweatshops, and "luxury" brands who burn all their stuff.

a lottery to win the right to buy your (admittedly beautiful) doll horns? Im taking myself out. I never win these things and it annoys me because its 3D printed, they can easily make multiples of them without causing us heart ache. I know Im being dramatic but Im so annoyed with all this limited hard to get items. I wish more people did a time limited vs quantity limited preorders. I got into the hobby to relieve stress, not add to it. 

I’ve bought a few standard stock dolls and a few limited-release ones, and the limited release ones just feel more special. I’m thinking of swearing off always-available dolls and only collecting limiteds. It’s also easier to convince myself to drop money on something that’s only available NOW… with non-limited dolls, I waffle and wait for sales and then wait for even bigger sales that never come.

Remember to only buy the UGC Limiteds you like! Don’t waste money or time going after stuff you wanna resell. If you wanna profit off of an item, get a regular limited from Roblox instead! It will also send them a message that you want more high-quality official limmys!
