it wasn’t like centralia had a lot of people walking around town. not even when her salon had sort of a privileged location. aria didn’t have many clients that week, and she hated to see the sidewalk right outside in boring gray, so that morning, she sat out with a box of pastels decided to write, draw and doodle some beach design, with a big bright sun, and planned for a rainbow in the corner, except somebody was well on their way to step on her box of pastels, most likely ruining them all. “CAREFUL THERE!”

“Is there something good to drink aside of the coffee?”

          TOOLBOX IN HAND AND BRIGHT grin illuminating his features, court squints against the sharp afternoon sunlight as boots find find their way up the sidewalk toward the house number he’s scrawled in ballpoint pen on the palm of his hand. what a drastic change, he can’t help but think, to have gone from strict routines and even stricter schematics, traveling from state to state and air force base to air force base for his job to rolling over in his bed and flipping through the wanted ads in the newspaper for little side gigs to fill his time and his wallet. ( and to nourish his soul, don’t let him fool you — there’s nothing he loves more than helping in his free time, whether it be animals or people. ) smile grows to flash pearly whites as court approaches the home and, upon spotting a silhouette near the door, he waves.  ❝ hey there ! i’m the one who called about your ad — court margolis, dog lover, handyman, and relative jack-of-all-trades. ❞ toolbox is shifted in one hand so the other can extend in a friendly greeting.  ❝ so... how’s it i can help you ? don’t worry, i’ve got more stuff out in the truck. ❞ he nods over his shoulder toward the street.  ❝ no job too big. ❞ @liminalstart​

“i insist! take it. you may need it if the heater goes out.” juliet insisted, pushing a second blanket into the other’s arms. “there really isn’t as much people as we expected here, so we can get two or even three blankets.” it was not a five star hotel, but she would say it was like a meaningful three star refuge. it wasn’t bad at all, for the little time they had to set everything up. “we just want you as comfortable as you can be for the night, alright?”

the week of paying rent was a bitch. of course faith considered not having enough money to pay at the supermarket. in fact, she had been thinking about it obsessively while she was in line, but as her name stated it, she kept the faith on having enough for the day. except she was about ten bucks short at the time to pay. “shit.” she whispered to herself, looking at her groceries and thinking what she could leave and come back later for, but everything seemed kind of necessary. “fuck- uhm-” without any other idea, faith turned to the person behind her in line. “hey- i’m- would you by any chance have ten bucks to spare? i’ll pay you tomorrow, i promise.” she trusted her big blue eyes to do all the convincing work for her. 

“you know, people say not to accept any food from people nowadays because it’s like- safe and shit but my daddy never taught me that.” dax spoke a lot, even more so when it seemed unnecessary. he could have simply say thank you and bite the cupcake, but he had to take the long road. “what the fudge did you put in these?” yes, fudge, because it was a sweet. it made sense in his head. “it’s fucking amazing- did you make these? do you have more of these?”

river wiggled his hips a few times to make sure he was really done, and with one swift move and a little jump, zipped up his pants, pretty much unaware that there was anyone could be by him, despite this being quite the crowded party. in his mind, he had chosen a quite secluded spot, but when he turned around he realized it had not been exactly private. river slid his hands to his hips and grinned. “in my defense, the restrooms were full- and the plants around here looked kind of thirsty.” he then wiped his hands on his thighs and walked over to the other. “are you having a good time?”
