Hello all! James here from the Museum & Multivax! When I'm not working in the Museum as Operations Officer - I am a storyteller, author and podcaster! I have been asked to set out some tasks by Felicity and I thought it might be good, given my role, to set a task about environment (considering I look after the building!) and how a space, devoid of people, can tell it's own story. As I opened the Museum the other day, I thought about a phrase I have been exploring recently for my writing- liminal spaces. The definition of limenal is a threshold - and keeping this in mind when we speak about liminal spaces, we mean a place in between the beginning of a journey and the end point (the bit in the middle of getting from point A to B) see the link below for some explanations and examples (https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/general/understanding-how-liminal-space-is-different-from-other-places/) So todays task is to describe the building as though your are making your rounds as the Operations Officer! I have attached some photos at the bottom of this post! Describe the sound of the keys rattling, the smell of the main gallery, the light catching particles of dust. Think about the sounds you might hear? Recognise the shadowed areas and think about what could lay behind the closed doors before you. We cant wait to hear your descriptions! #liminalspace #liminalmuseum #liminalgalleries #athomehero #royalcornwallmuseum #writer #museum https://www.instagram.com/p/CKl6E_8rCjB/?igshid=1rn3ftxgqkvdg
