#limestone fossils

Stumpled now over this rock chunk of crinoidchalk limestone the biggest piece of this ever found by me. Where pretty far on the railroad track 🛤️ already heading back, then it was lying before me on the side. The entire rock is full of them in and on all sides.

Perhaps i can chisel some rock out or one stem or stalk part. No tiny star hole seeing on any.

Will definitely take more pictures of the small nice crinoid!!!!!! So cool to find now so an large piece of rock bed with so full of fossils, after seeing such chunks here from others

Found an new rock with an orthoceras or alike specimen partial in it. Like an previous one.

The remaining fossil of the once chambers of the nautiloide marine animal, good to be seen on the red pebbles side, the mineralized white shell in red sandstone or Kalkstein. Now they are four cephalopod finds of Orthoceras by me.

They can be dated to 480 million years from the Ordovician, pretty cool and old preserved.

The same reddish brown colored rock like the other piece from last year, the first found.

Thinking my finds of them are an smaller species of the cone shaped cephalopods.

It’s called and also named here an Geradhorn from „ gerades Horn „ - linear horn form but my find is an half broken inner mineralization in the curved form in the rock. 😅

Really nice in the cool red limestone matrix, the other side has also an imprint of one or is the other side of the same on an curved surface.

Part one of the todays finds of limestone fossils. Was stumbling searching on gravel beds on an parking lot of an concurrent of IKEA.

Found an small chert core of an Echinocorys, and some nice patterned favosites coral 🪸 fragments. Sadly no chain corals seen. 😑

The largest chunk of agatized coral now found by me. It was in the rocky tracks, I was walking on this warm sunny day back, it was definitely not been there recently like April last time. 🤔

Yesterday I was partial walking around the sand beds from the construction railroad tracks, found this limestone of an coral fossil. 🛤️🪸

The entire surface is really smoothly, covered by the tiny chambers, are almost intact but weathered down, from moving and contact of falling, machines etc. But no fissures or broken apart.

Sadly to say, I own no polishing or rock cutting machine, tool, nor drexll, to cut open to see the entire inner struckture of the coral or 😭mineralization.

I’m really happy but also angry sad to think about. Perhaps with some sandpaper to try to polishing an spot.

Also have broken up just the top part if an lose limestone mussel shells 🐚 concentration top.

In there are these tiny fossils of mussels, if broken further up, then would be more shows up. But definitely the hidden would be lost.

Oh damnit, it’s looks more like an chain coral now. 🪸😨
