I love the part about Nano and Ross using their perceived innocence as a weapon, it sounds very much like a hunting song for Smith's methods too, and the pounding beat of wolves on the hunt is kind of like the constant danger humans and fae are in in the city?? okay so House of Wolves is fantastic just because of the fast beat that just screams the sound of a wolf on the hunt, chasing down and tearing apart its prey, i also have All Time Low’s Dancing With a Wolf and Maroon 5′s Animals because of the similar predator/prey theme that the garbage court seem to have going on. but lyrically its gotta be ‘we got innocence for days’ because man, what a line. i love the whole ‘illusion of innocence’ thing especially with characters like nano and Ross who use innocence as a front to draw in their prey. but tbh the whole chorus is just fantastic cause it’s this guy having a bunch of names and threats being thrown at him and the wolf underneath not giving a shit, fucking love it
then with the city is at war you’ve firstly got that theme of luxury and wealth that comes with the club beat and the lyric 'if you’ve got money then you get in for free’ just emphasises that, the entire song is just fast cars and living the high life, coupled with the grit of the underground, which is what the garbage court is all about, putting up appearances while living young and fast, chrome cars with a body in the trunk, that sort of thing, blood money and bullet holes, hard and fast, the criminal lifestyle
