do tell abt the lilydew lore..............looking at you with big eyes
OKAY, she has many phases of her life! I will also dip into the world she lives in. I will try and get to the point, but I love to ramble <3
----- Breif Summery -----
Lilydew is a very vocal character. She has a sharp silver tongue and will try to talk her way out of anything, usually resulting in her getting into more trouble. She can be pretty annoying and defiant but will always double down when work has to be done. She never really sees the danger in others, and that can get her into difficult situations. Lilydew takes her new healing role very seriously and enjoys the life she built.
Lilydew started as a kitty-pet and voluntarily became a loner. After hearing rumors of clan cats, she goes into the forest to check it out. There, she runs into MistClan's medicine cat, Sloeroot. Sloeroot teaches Lilydew about healing and clan life. She decides to stay a loner but tries to become a healer for any cat that needs it.
She rarely interacts with MistClan, but it is one of three in this location and most prominent in her story. It is a small to average sized clan near a coastline. Mistclan's border consists of a regular maritime forest with thick waxy leaves, full canopy, and sandy soil.
----- Longer Introduction -----
Her story begins in a twoleg nest as a kitty-pet. She is an oriental long-hair with a mostly white coat. The solid color is broken with a patch of blue fur on her lower back that stretches to the end of her tail. Her fur is thin and feathery. At two moons, she was adopted by an elderly widow named Ethel. Ethel gave her the name Lily-Bell.
This is her "Lily-Bell phase." The two grew very close in the short amount of time they spent together. Too soon, Ethel passed away once Lily-Bell reached eight moons. Lily-Bell was then adopted by Ethel’s next kin. She was very stubborn with them, only excepting Ethel to take care of her. The family turned to the animal shelter due to her being too unruly. During this transition, Lily-Bell escaped onto the streets to live among the subdivision as a loner. She was fine with dipping in and out of homes for food and limited shelter.
This is her "Lily phase," where she drops the suffix of her name, preserving it for only Ethel and just becoming Lily. When this way of life eventually became boring, she moved into another part of the city, that is closer to the maritime forest. There, she became close with another loner who had allegedly came across the clan cats of the forest. He told her all the stories and rumors he had heard and seen. Curiosity obviously got to her, and she ventured out into the forest to see for herself.
While out, she runs into a medicine cat named Sloeroot. Sloeroot is a moody, soft-spoken she-cat. She demands Lily to leave the forest after their scuffle. Lily wasn't a fighter but a talker, so she pressed with all kinds of questions. To her dismay, Sloeroot was her match and didn’t share much other than she was a medicine cat for her clan tasked to replenish her stock of herbs. Lily, deeply interested, stated that she will stay put and wait for Sloeroot to return to ask more questions. Sloeroot warned her of the dangers about crossing boarders and her clan's warriors. She agreed to meet Lily away from their boarder to answer more questions.
Lily and Sloeroot met a couple of times before her clan became suspicious of her whereabouts. Lily was fascinated with the clan life but decided that it wasn't how she wanted to live hers. She enjoys being the boss of herself but is intent on learning everything the medicine cat knows about healing. Sloeroot argued that she couldn't since a medicine cat is a unique role to a clan and serves as the bridge between StarClan and clan members. Lily persists, and Sloeroot agrees to teach her a few things about healing. They quickly grow really close regardless of the distance Sloeroot tried to implement, not wanting to become attached to the loner.
This is her "Lilydew phase," Lily learns about StarClan, Warrior code, and Thistlestar, the leader of MistClan. Sloeroot undoubtedly admires her clan leader, and it shows through her stories that she tells Lily. Lily felt inspired by Thistlestar's story and adopted the name Lilydew due to Thistlestar's previous warrior name, Thistledew.
After Sloeroots periodic teachings, Lilydew also experments and strives to learn on her own. Lilydew prides herself on her knowledge of medicine-cat-like wisdom and practices on other loners, city strays, clan members, and willing rogues. She finds herself in trouble often with crossing clan borders and trying to learn more about the clan life. When she finds an injured cat, hostile or not, she jumps into action with the knowledge she knows without asking any questions.
Starclan does not speak to her in any way, yet at least. She likes to think that they do, begging for signs and dreams. She wants to have a real purpose and reason, but at the end of the day, she will still continue even without validation.
