25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read
Oh lord, I’ve read so much fucking fic and I have a sieve for a memory for most things. Do rereads count? I’m going to guess not. But like, ok...one fic? I have to choose one??? That makes it both easier and harder. Ok, so, I know this might not be everyone’s cup of tea because it’s a genre fic, but, guys, The Lady of the Manor by @satelliteinasupernova is SO good and such a great genre piece, you gotta give it a try, you just gotta. But like, on a non-Riverdale related note, the OUAT season 3b rewrite There But for the Grace of God (and its sequel) is SO goddamn good at righting a show that truly went to shit so goddamn fast and so goddamn hard. It doesn’t fall into the usual trap of hyper-focusing on a single ship or character when rewriting the season or of making just minor tweaks and copy-pasting a bunch of stuff; it’s very original and fun and interesting, and if you too were let down by OUAT, go read it.
Is there a story you wrote that you would like to write a coda or a prequel to? Do you have any planned? (From @likemereckless )
You know, I'm still not sure what a coda is, tbh, but I have thought of continuing the phantasiae series with Betty and Jughead actually going through with the jerk-off fantasies I gave them, particularly Betty's Blue and Gold one, and kind of exploring how the reality differs from the fantasy, but that's wayyyy down the list of priorities, I'd say.
As for prequels, I honestly don't think there are any prequel stories for me to write; I've started at the beginning each time, I think, and anything set beforehand would just be a repeat of what comes later, I feel. I mean, I could write the break up alluded to in (ain't it good to know) you've got a friend, but I don't think it would add anything, which is why I skipped over it in the first place. Also, it wouldn't be fun to write, tbh, just angst with no happy ending in any capacity, which I'm not a fan of.
tl;dr Not really, no.
