Friendly reminder that precedent or "because it's part of canon" is not a good defence for reusing a dumb idea.
Case in point. I think the lightwhip is a rather silly weapon but anyone complaining about it is met with "You clearly don't know Star Wars, it was in the EU first." Yeah, and it was dumb there too, that's not a "gotcha".
Pretty sure everyone universally agrees the helicopter lightsabers in Rebels are moronic, clearly Disney learned from that because they've never done that in live-action. Even though all Inquisitor lightsabers *can* do that, wisely they decided it was not something to do again.
still can't believe we're getting a lightwhip in live action actually. and being wielded by an important light side character too
anyway let's give it up for all the evil ladies who were using one before it was cool (it was always cool)
