Her sketch was so cool and I think I ruined it with le background. But I hope that time I spent on it will be totally worth it. So hope you like it.

“Bete noire” : a person or thing strongly detested or avoided.

Such an interesting title for someone or something that hesitates for hate. I’ve always been looking for an explanation about what is actually the pink trait (not the soul of fear), since It’s only been attributed to fear.

And?

Well, isn’t strange? I mean, would Camila actually create a single trait that is evil? No, actually not, and it’s not common sense, if you’re seeing this…

This sentence is from a Camila’s post in Amino, you should check it up and see that there’s a lot we don’t know. Well, I personally knew there had to be more inverted traits, but I didn’t know from where these come.

Remember Agate? Yeah, the dark queen, that psycho who killed her siblings cause of her hate to monsters. There was a moment in the episode she had the dark orange trait, actually, fear, the inverted trait of bravery… Basically, there’s a spell that could change your own magic, in this case, she wouldn’t control her bravery, but their fear. And maybe, that’s for all traits known to date, like justice and the inverted one… Selfishness, the dark yellow trait.

Also, this resolves something. At first, I couldn’t get the fact of the existence of brown trait, why not just pink?

I realized, only a “Bete noire” (the spell) could “live” with one, since it’s only for them.

You couldn’t recognize the old trait, for example, orange (bravery) and dark orange (fear)

And if you actually think that the pink soul is because of Amber’s color palette, I’d say no, since it would have an orange one and Betty’s hair would have a different palette (my opinion). I believe it was more like a visual game Camila wanted to show.

Oh, and now, the main question, how do you do that spell for inverting your trait? We actually know something, if you’re gonna make it, your soul will never adapt the sudden change (maybe there are exceptions), so you have to have a strong desire for doing it. Now, we know Agate hated monsters, maybe cause her father died since they killed them or something (knowing her mother had hate on her soul while being born Amber).

Anyway, since you want to hurt someone or something, cause invert your trait won’t do anything but just that, you need some substance, some evil substance… Yes, HATE.

Not only that, I mean, I don’t know if this could mean something, but Bete’s got more power in her actual soul that the other children, and hate is an enhancer. Also, take a look on this:

Inverted fear soul is completely black (maybe it’s kinda stupid, but I was curious about seeing the fear soul not pink but completely white). Anyway, you can get hate by hurting others, we’ve seen this in season 1, maybe LOVE AND hate are related somehow x3.

And, remember, every bete noire is going to induce to hate for its plans
