Tenna doesn't know exactly how he fully becomes a Lightner. Not more than he understands the strange magic letting him run without electricity. Whether it's Hope or Determination or Love....

Susie's crying again that night. It hasn't happened in a bit and Tenna feels his heart break anew when his lullabies and channels don't help. She wants her parents back. She wants someone to love and care for her again.

But Tenna does! He hasn't known her long but he loves her so much.

In a burst of light, magic, and a crash as the red cart breaks below him and the trash heap collapses away from them, Tenna is fully humanoid and able to hug Susie against his chest.

After Tenna calms Susie down, she amazed that her cool magic tv is now a tv monster! And he's so big!

Susie's delighted by the mysterious magic tv that will play shows if she asks it to. She puts it in a rusted red wagon she scavenges from the dump and carts it around with her.

Just the lightners

Thank you I've actually had the idea for a really long time, maybe since like 2018 or something, before Deltarune even. The idea that Gaster and Gerson (ut) used to have beef *in the surface* before the monsters got trapped underground and for some seemingly very stupid reason (disagreement over whether an object is green or yellow, something like that), and then they've hated each other for so long they *forgot why* and so it just turns into an old man friendship where they keep annoying each other for fun. And then Gaster was forgotten about. Does seem like Gerson is missing someone sitting on a rocking chair next to the counter just quipping with him while you shop.

In Deltarune, this is even more nuanced because they have the authorship theme to both of them. Like to me they feel like a fictionalized understanding of Tolkien and CS Lewis, especially the way they interface with religion in their both supposed works. Under the light of kismetic but friendly relationship even the dialogue Gerson gives you about the shadow crystal (which is implied to be something Gaster gives to their holders) after defeating him reads as a cheeky quip: "felt like someone really wanted me to use this thing. But it didn't interest me, so you can take it."

He's a Bug? Hes a Monster? No! He's a Bug Monster.

So ive been rotating an idea of a lightner au tenna in my brain for a while because lbr almost all of the existing ones are just backdrops for The Ship That Wont Be Named.

So i wanted to make my own! I have this idea of him maybe being either a radio presenter or maybe head of the local town theatre?

a few little sketches as I try to nail down the vibe of what I want. I may be posting more of this design in the coming weeks.
