Camping had become one of her more favorite things to do as they traveled across Eos. Despite all of the things that happen should the wander too far into the night, it was the stars that brought her solace as she began to wind down from the days journey. Lunafreya knew that there were more trails that awaited them in the days ahead, but her faithful bodyguard always seemed to be there when she needed him.

Letting out a hum, the oracle looked over towards Nyx, a soft smile beginning to appear onto her face. “Perhaps I could say the same for you.” It was something so simple, yet spoke volumes of truth. She leaned her head against his good shoulder, choosing to stare at the campfire before them. “No matter how great my anxiety grows for the coming days, I will always find a quiet calmness whenever I’m with you, Nyx Ulric.”

Sunlight creeps through the shades, each pale beam of light serving as a reminder to just what they are missing outside. If he concentrates hard enough, Prompto is fairly certain he can hear the carefully orchestrated cacophony of the arcade that he would give anything to be in… and its with another groan of frustration that he bends over the book in his lap, fingers grabbing at already tousled hair. 

Astrals - maybe if he stares at the words hard enough, they’ll all start to make sense.

— Boys say such silly things! And people say that princesses are far more spoiled than young princes are. Luna couldn’t help but let out a laugh, ❝What a silly thought! I could never forget you.❞ He was one of the few friends that she had, how could she ever loose the memory of a dear friend?

She watched Noctis blow his cheeks up in a pout at seeing her laugh. It didn’t cause them to lessen either, as the giggled became more and more frequent the longer she looked at him. Maybe she should show him that she could never forget him? Yes! What a wonderful idea!

Without another word, she left the prince’s side in favor of running across her room. After opening a few drawers, she finally found what she had been looking for. Luna scampered back over with a wide smile on her face, in her arms was a leather bound book. ❝We’ll write letters to each other! So that we don’t forget!❞

❝Mummy and Ravus gave this to me as a birthday present.❞ She explained as she showed off the cover. ❝I haven’t used it yet. It’s perfect for sending secrets to each other. Here, I’ll start.❞ She took the pen attached to the journal and opened it up. Luna began to scribble a small message, while trying to make sure Noctis didn’t peak. After she was done, she placed it into his lap with another smile. ❝There! Now you try it!❞

— Recently, her mind has been getting the best of her. Getting caught up in things that had yet to happen. With so much to loose, it felt like she was in a constant race against the clock to get her duties done before she reached her final destination. It made her wish that she could think clearly for once instead of having such intrusive thoughts at every second of the day.

Perhaps that is why she has a slip up in character upon hearing those words. An uncharacteristic chortle escaped her upon the burst of laughter that came seconds before. She turned away quickly to hide her embarrassment and settle down her laughter. ❝I apologize, I didn’t think…❞ Her laughter came through once more, stopping her mid-thought as one arms wrapped around her side to keep herself together.

All tact and grace were gone from Eos’ Oracle, laughing at such a mild-mannered joke made by her bodyguard. ❝I never thought I would see you care so much about vanity. And they say royals are vain.❞ 

— Her love of stars never wavered from childhood, following her well into her adult life. Studying the ever changing constellations and every story that was behind each of their names were what brought her great joy. Being able to share that with someone she cared about was even more enjoying. She had been listing off all of the ones that she could see, telling Noctis with excited glee as he silently listened to her talk. It almost made her wonder that if, perhaps, she were talking too much and lost his interest.

Lunafreya paused in her talking as Noctis pointed something out to her just out of her initial view. Her eyes followed his line of sight, leading her to a different cluster of stars. ❝Oh!❞ She had lightly touched his arm as another smile appeared on her face. ❝That constellation is called ‘Andromeda’! Her constellation is apart of Pisces should you be able to find it in the correct seasons. That particular one is named after the maiden who was saved by-❞

She paused upon realization that perhaps Noctis was only asking for the name this time around. Her posture straightened a bit as she folded her hands in front of her. Cheeks red from the embarrassment of going a little off the rails with her Astronomy talk. ❝I apologize, I didn’t mean to get ahead of myself. It’s just...been so long since I was able to truly do anything like this before. I must be boring you with all of these details.❞

❝Would you like to hear the story behind it’s name?❞

— How long has it been since she’s truly looked at the stars? It used to be her favorite past time, looking up at the night sky before she slept. When she was a child, every night she used to wish on a star with all her heart. Hoping that it would one day become true. Sometimes she was even able to get Ravus in on it (or at least humor her for a moment).

Now, being able to sleep under the stars like this, did she remember why it was her favorite past time. The night sky held a sense of mystique, as if there was a childlike wonder reinvented inside of her the moment she looked up. Caught up in the wonder of it all, she almost missed it. A bright streak making its way across the night sky. It caused a quiet gasp to escape her upon catching it. Had it not been for Nyx pointing it out, she would have missed it almost entirely.

Regardless, she folded her hands like a prayer and closed her eyes as she thought of her wish. After a moment, she opened them again, staring up towards the starry night once more. ❝I used to wish that I could catch those shooting stars in a bottle to keep them forever. Like my own little nightlight from the Astrals themselves.❞ She stated. ❝Now I see that there are far brighter stars that have fallen to light my way.❞

Without another beat she looked towards her companion, ❝Did you wish for anything?❞

He stops dead in his motion, cloth wiping over the blade freezing right over the personalized inscription of Griever.

What was wrong with these people?

He looks over with a scowl for a minute, trying not to grit his teeth.
