Lighting Op-portunities
I got an un-anticipated text today to operate a childrens show, Great! work before christmas, I haven't been contacted by the director yet so I haven't confirmed that I am going to do it. If I get in with this director it is an amazing opportunity, I have to keep him very very happy He directs a lot of shows. Work and creating these relationships now means when I leave uni I go out in to the industry with a good name and excellent contacts.
And of course here is the catch: First I can only accept work if it does not interfere with my holiday plans. Next;Â Michael (my partner) Has worked with this director before. The experience for him was stressful and he butted heads with the director over design decisions.
Personally I like to distance myself from Michael professionally, like I will help him out and he helps me out. But I try my best to not let his experiences affect me. Infact I will take what he has told me to create a good working relationship with the director.
I really didn't think I'd be working at all this holidays, but here we go.
Wish me luck, Nicole A
