What happens to wishlights if the wisher gives up on their wish?
A shudder goes through the queen.
"Truly giving up on a wish rarely happens dear. Wishes can change without being fulfilled though. But if a creature that can hope and dream gives up on hope so completely that there is no wish left in their heart... I've only heard legend of that.
Wishes sometimes get passed on to others when the wisher thinks they cant see them through.
But to truly despair and fully abandon hope beyond recovery?
They say the wish light would dim and if the wisher passes on without finding hope again, they are said to pull back at the soul and create ghosts.
That sometimes still happens if the wisher passes in still having hope but those spirits are friendlier and much more common. They linger until the wish is passed on to someone new somehow, in which case the wish will emerge with an existing light. Or until the wish is fulfilled and becomes a star."
