Nimbus Nerd/Um Actually
When my friend @flightlessart drew fan art of our mutual friend @nimbustheliger wearing glasses, that gave me the idea of commissioning a nerd/um actually emote. Made by @flightlessart .
Detroit already has major sports teams called the Lions (football) and the Tigers (baseball)
If Detroit had a new major sports team, which name would be better?
the Bears
the Ligers

Jacques-Laurent Agasse (Swiss, 1767-1849, active in Britain from 1800), Group of Whelps Bred between a Lion and a Tigress (Liger Cubs), 1825, oil on canvas.
Inscribed in black paint, upper left: "Bred at Windsor Octr 1824. | Painted when six-months old"
Happy Feline Friday! These three-month-old liger cubs have a tigress mother and a lion father. This work describes their appearance:
“The young of the Lion are calculated to deceive an inexperienced observer, from the fact of their being striped transversely, so as to induce the opinion, at first sight, that they rather belong to the Tiger, and, in this respect, the cubs in question agreed with those of the Lion. In the young Lions, however, these stripes soon become obliterated, but in those before us, they appear to be getting more decided and permanent, and, in fact, to be assuming the permanent Tigrine character…The shaped of the head, as appears by the figures, is assimilated to that of the father (the Lion) ; the superficies, of the body, on the other hand, is like that of the Tigress.” (p. 449)

So I'm going to have to explain the Charles video-
(Btw I've been helping with animal conservation including volunteering at a wildlife rescue since I was 11)
look i get not everyone is as passionate about animal rights but the atrocities committed by zoo's is well documented and known, it is literally one google search.
Lets be clear now- playing tug of war with a big cat isn't animal abuse, its actually good for mental stimulation and helps mimic activities big cats do in the wild. Its good for them.
The problem is (other than traveling and not wearing a mask during a pandemic)-
A) LIGERS AND TIGONS SHOULD NOT EXIST.
They DO NOT exist outside captivity. Their very existence is animal cruelty. Even in areas where both lions and tigers live it does not happen. Ligers, tigons, and even other "exotic" wild animal such as white tigers & white lions face major genetic defects causing health and neurological disorders, for every grown liger you see atleast 10 liger cubs have died or not made it. They are bred in breeding farms with deplorable conditions, them and their parents kept in small cages, sedated most of their lives, etc, etc. Because liger's are bigger than any of the 2 parent species, the mother often needs a C-section or dies.
9/10 white tigers face serious health + cognitive problems, even the perfect looking ones, and anywhere from 10-20 cubs were killed because they were a "normal colour" or looked like the second picture. Imagine what its like for a species crossbreed (White lions are more common, and seen in the wild)
B) it helps perpetuate a culture of using WILD animals for wealth, which you can guess is problematic. These animals aren't displays, and even though they should be saved from existing, they are living creatures. A zoo like the one shown in the video is about wealth over education/ animal conservation.
And the irony of the fact that a very rich boy and his girlfriend and friends are playing with zoo animals who spend their entire lives locked up in isolation in a pandemic isn't lost on me.
Charles leclerc is a human and hopefully he will learn (lewis did something similar in 2016), but he's got 4 million followers who idolise him. This behaviour isn't something to duplicate and instead of admitting that he tried to cover it up.🤦
On another note, #wesaynotomazepin
(this lion is most likely on a canned hunting/breeding farm or one of those "sanctuaries" like BJWT and been either emotionally abused and/or drugged, wild cat's don't act like this no matter what any Instagram influencer wants you to believe)
