damien tugs firmly at his hair. his head is pounding, panic clawing at his throat. he feels as if his heart beat much faster, it was going to blow out of his chest. the kind of response this CREATURE coaxes out of him is too much, too much to bear. but he can’t escape it. the crushing presence. how his flesh turns to ice. 

       Perhaps  he  should  be  concerned  or  afraid,  or  even  show  any  hint  of  possible  resignation  at  the  response  he  is  given.  But  no.  Too-wide  grin  ever  twitching  at  the  corners  that  stretch  uncomfortably  in  consideration  of  the  other  proportions  of  his  face.  It  seemed  misplaced.  Non-blinking  eyes  watch  the  other  with  new  found  intensity  though,  suddenly  finding  an  intense  intrigue  in  him.

Damien would have sworn he was alone. The only other people who should be in the office were cleaning staff. Not only that, his office door was closed, and it still was closed when Damien turned around. No one had entered the room, yet someone was there. Or rather, something. It had a human form, but something about it didn’t seem humane. Damien didn’t know what it was, but he felt ill at ease upon laying eyes on the other.
