Ithink lidsville would've benefited if billie hayes was not cast as weenie. Don't get me wrong I love her and she did great as weenie, got to really put her androgyny for show, but i think Butch patrick would've benefited from not being the only young person on set. Weenie is written as a younger character and casting him as one could've helped any interactions between Mark and Weenie be more natural than an 18 year old trying to act with a woman in her forties. Thats why I like mark and Weenie in the comics so much, they very much get along like an older and younger brother.
Also i think its very unfair that the kroffts pin lidsville's lack of focus on mark on butch patrick and his acting. They call him underwhelming next to C.N. Reilly, and thats true, but also the main reason mark doesnt get to have focus as the main character is BECAUSE OF THE WRITING!! Mark's plots feel forgotten behind the Hoodoo family drama they push to forefront of the show. Somehow the episode that hoodoo is not even there somehow is more about Hoodoo than mark
