I'm in no position to really say this because I stopped watching some time during s4 but I feel like the 100 has always been a bad show that was just accidentally good for ~20 episodes or so

no, you’re right. Most people who stopped watching left after season 4/5, when it was clear it was different from seasons 1/2.
I’m on the “actually, season 6 was enjoyable” train, but if the argument is that general quality of the show fell in the later seasons-- yeah, I can buy that. It was good enough for me though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Okay so we know I’m not exactly a fan of the writing on this show, and this season hasn’t changed my mind. It’s nice that the plot, so far, is a little different than the last few seasons, but the undercurrent of the same old themes (and problems) are there, so I’m wary.
BUT that’s not to say a show has to be perfect to be enjoyable. I’m definitely going to keep watching solely because seeing bellarke consistently on the same side and respecting and loving each other (pLaToNiCaLlY) is food for my soul. In my opinion, I can’t see jr*th ever putting them together, so if I keep that in mind, I can enjoy the scraps.
PLUS, I don’t want to spoil anything, but the coming episodes have potential for some excellent bellarke “I-know-you-better-than-anyone” content and if the show doesn’t follow through I’m SURE the fanfiction will be bountiful.

Is it weird that I feel sad that when they meet again, Bellamy could well know Mori better than he does Clarke? Six years is a hell of a long time & s.1-4 cover like a single year, so even with how well he & Clarke got to know each other, that dynamic will be disrupted after the time jump. I'm with you that I fully they are endgame, but it's a bit hard for me to consider in this new way, since what I always loved best about them is how deeply they understood each other, better than anyone else.
How well you know someone and how much you care for them is not factor of how much time you’ve spent with someone, but how much you’ve chosen to share with them. Just because Bellamy will have spent 6 years on the Ark with Raven, Monty, Harper, Murphy, Emori and Echo doesn’t mean he will ever open up to them the way he did to Clarke.
It’s also likely that, as Bellamy and Clarke’s relationship is the foundation of the show, they’ll spend ample time rebuilding whatever they lost over time.
As they’ll be older, they’ll also be...more adult in their interactions, much like Kabby, who never engaged in all of the drama that seems to thrive in our younger couples.
