83) Valley of Dreams and Nightmares – Yudi Chen

I am painting picket fences on a green lawn in summer. I wisely wait for each side to dry so that I can paint the other side. I have an out of body experience. In another dream, my family remarks how everyone is taller than me. I think "at least my cat is shorter than me." My cat then stands up to prove that he is, sadly, also taller than me. He is then granted semi-human status as my new little brother. A vivid childhood nightmare in which a beautiful, naked lady with her legs chopped off 'walks' away from me down a dark hallway - leaving a trail of blood.

82) The Pyre – Vero Navarro

I dreamt I was being walked to a big pyre to be burned for some crime I had committed. It was the last hours of the day and the sound of drums was almost deafening in my ears. But instead of being scared I recall feeling quite serene like I had accepted my fate and made peace with it. So I just kept walking in line behind my captors while enjoying the gentle breeze, the hypnotizing drums, and the twilight.

The mermaid watches me, waiting almost patiently as I wade through the river to get closer to her. Somehow I know that if I catch her, she’ll grant me a single wish for anything I desire. Just when I can almost reach out to her she disappears under the surface, and in almost a blink of an eye darts away downstream, where she resurfaces, holding my gaze as if she had never moved. Again, when I get too close to her, she retreats. This continues awhile longer until I realize I’ll never get my wish.

I remember walking down an abandoned street, but I had the feeling I was being watched. It was completely quiet; there were no cars, people or animals around. Yet just out of the corner of my eye I thought I could see shapes moving in the shadows. Then when I turned to look, they were gone.

I'm standing alone in a room, gazing out of a large window. Situated right outside are various types of flora or fauna. Whatever I desire, I can pull towards me with either a hand gesture or by thought alone. All the while, the space behind me remains light and empty.

My dream started out as a disorienting scene in which I ran into my grandmother and there was some sort of argument before I recognized her.  The whole family settled down to watch The Shining, but in name only. The movie we watched was about a group of people staying in a hotel or dorm decorated all in dark, plush red. There was an incredible feeling of dread, and when one of them pushed aside the drapes to look outside they saw a still woman smiling at them from the street. The  woman moved in a stuttering blur and all the versions of her seemed to exist at once before she finally vanished.
