The best feeling in the world, is the feeling of helping in producing happiness for someone. The other night, I was walking to meet my man at his job and there was an elderly woman walking towards me. I have never seen this woman a day in my life. So, she stopped me and stated,

“Ma’am, it seems that you’re busy right now and I’m sorry to disturb you. I’m not stopping you for any money, but I am just hungry and want to ask if you can help me.”

“Sure ma’am. There’s an Aldi across the street. So we can see if it’s open. What is it that your hungry for?”

“I just need something to last me through the week. Maybe, a loaf of bread, some lunch meat, and some cheese.”

“Would you like anything to drink?”

“Sure, anything will be fine.”

So we walk to Aldi’s, but they closed at 9 pm and it was 9:11 pm. I told her that the only think open is the gas station down the street and I get a discount. As we are walking, she almost cried and was telling me her story of homelessness and not being able to eat and she was living out of her car. 

We get to the gas station and they don’t have any lunch meat or cheese, so I found the small boxes of cereal that comes in a variety pack, as well as some milk. Before we went to the counter, I asked her if she had a way back to her car and she replied that she didn’t.

I bought her food, as well as provided her bus fare to get to her car.

Once she left, the employees looked at me and asked me if I knew her. “No, I don’t know her.” They looked at me like I was crazy because I just bought her a lot of cereal and milk, and then told me that I will karma will give back to me.

Honestly, karma already gave me something back. The simple fact that that woman can eat and get home, and the smile on her face after she received everything was a blessing in itself.
