Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi are currently battling each other for minutes up top for Liverpool, but appeared to get on pretty well in this strange club video released today via the official Twitter account!

The forwards both try driving and then parking the 917 bus alongside an instructor, with Sturridge a little more devious than his younger team-mate!

Ironically, it’s other teams parking the bus which has caused Liverpool such problems under Jurgen Klopp, with his side much more effective when our opponents come at us.

We face Leicester City next, who will play on the counter at Anfield on September 10 – much like they did throughout 2015/16 – winning a maiden Premier League title in the process…

Sturridge wasn’t happy when Origi came on before him against Spurs last time out, but at home, we’d back him to play from the outset.

English tabloids have seen odds slashed on Sturridge to Arsenal and have constructed a transfer rumour out of it.

Paying any mind to betting odds can be a dangerous game. Many see lines rise and fall and think they must reflect some special inside knowledge that the betting house has; that if odds are slashed it must mean the house is trying to protect themselves from paying out.

The reality is far more mundane, as the odds are only ever reacting to where people are placing money, and this tends to lead to spiralling odds as people see a line shift and bet more or less as a result, which shifts the line further and more people notice and on it goes.

Today, the odds some people are noticing are the odds of Daniel Sturridge making the move to Arsenal, which The Mirror and a handful of other English tabloids have noticed have been dropping. This probably will in the end mean nothing. But it could mean something.

The chances it’s more than a spiralling line as bettors get caught up in deadline day madness and think they’ve spotted a meaningful betting trend is probably about on par with the chances of Leicester City successfully defending their Premier League title.

For the likes of The Mirror, in the meantime it allows them to spin a story about how Sturridge could end up at Arsenal because he’s “out of favour” and has a “frosty relationship” with Jürgen Klopp. For the rest of us, there’s only now about nine hours to wait for the story to blow over.

According to reports in France, Sakho is willing to leave Liverpool—but only for a return to his homeland.

When Mamadou Sakho rejected a Besiktas move earlier today, the assumption was that it signalled the French defender would remain at Liverpool for the coming season, even if it meant that he would be stuck in the stands following an apparent falling-out with manager Jürgen Klopp.

Now, though, France radio station RMC are claiming that Sakho is willing to make a move—it’s just that he has decided that if he isn’t able to stay at Liverpool this season, he wants to head back to France. Yet a return to PSG seems unlikely, leaving only question marks and uncertainty.

So far, there have been no reported links to clubs in France from journalists with ties to Liverpool, and there is nothing so far out of France beyond RMC’s suggestion that Sakho is set on a return to the country of his birth, and it could well be that Sakho will still be at Liverpool tomorrow.

In addition to Besiktas, the 26-year-old centre half has been linked with loan moves to Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, and Sunderland over the past week. In every case, it has been Sakho who has been believed to have stopped a deal from being completed.

The 22-year-old winger appears set to remain at the club until January.

Despite a late round of rumours linking him with a £16M move to Newcastle United yesterday, it appears increasingly likely that Lazar Markovic will still be a Liverpool player when the transfer window closes tonight at 11PM.

There have also been tenuous links with Sportin Lisbon, though it has been suggested in recent weeks that the 22-year-old winger is intent on making a name for himself in a major European league and does not fancy returning to Portugal.

Now, according to The Express, that resistance to departing Liverpool for Portugal and the Newcastle move falling through mean that he will be at Anfield, where he is stuck on the fringes of the first team, at least until January.

There’s still time before the transfer window closes, so it’s possible a loan could be arranged for the young winger in to ensure he gets minutes to keep his value up, but right now a long spell with Liverpool’s reserves appears to be on the cards.
