Description
Noel Streatfeildi (1895-1896), is best-known for her enduringly popular first novel Ballet Shoes, written for children and published in 1936. She began her career as an actor, training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and spent a decade on the stage before settling to writing. Her many books had their roots in her own family memories, giving them what readers felt to be an emotional authenticity.
