Your thoughts to Jason being the number one suspect in Leviathan?
I feel like Iām missing A LOT of the build up to the Leviathan stuff, I just jumped into the comic not quite knowing what was going on and a bunch of people were attacked and a bunch of other stuff was blown up. So Iām not sure how qualified I am to give an opinion, but that being saidā¦
Yeah, no. I really donāt think itās Jason. I think it would be AWESOME if it was Jason, but thereās no way in hell they would reveal who it was so soon in the event. And Jason is definitely not just sleep-walking in grief or messed up and crazy, Fight Club-style or some shit, that makes no sense. Also while the sentiment of what Leviathan wants sounds familiar, what he actually claims about himself isnāt accurate to Jason.
The broken world didnāt āalmostā kill Jason, it did kill Jason and if I know Jason itās that he doesnāt pass up a chance to mention he died. I donāt think much else Leviathan says fits Jasonās life either. He never cared about how much life fucked him over, he only cares about how much it screws with the innocent and helpless people with no power or control. He never thought, āguess I need to reevaluate before I get screwed over.ā Thatās not accurate to his experience and I donāt think thatās a mistake the writers would make. So yeah, itās not him.
Iāve also heard some people suggest itās either a resurrected or not quite dead Roy, or possibly some robot he created before he died pulling an Ultron, and I also think that would be pretty cool and make some sense even if it all doesnāt quite fit his M.O. either in my opinion. But if heās crazy from being sorta murdered or a robot or something then it could make sense. Also āreassessing his lifeā is something that Roy actually did do more than once, so that fits. And if he survived the HiC thing somehow then he did āalmost dieā. Green Arrow and Jasonās presence also suggests to me that it could be Roy because both characters have a relationship with Roy and otherwise donāt necessarily have a reason to be there unless itās for drama with Leviathan/Roy. So I think theĀ āRoyā theory has a decent chance of being the case.
Iāve got another theory though that seems really obvious to meāitās Barbara. Donāt ask me WHY she would do this but I think a lot of other things fit. Sheās āmissingā during all this, and Leviathan is using a full face mask and digital voice. It would explain why Leviathanās tech is Batman-like and it would explain how Leviathan could locate and attack all those intelligence agencies. Batgirl/Oracle could easily do that. Iām not entirely sure it lines up, but I think even if she isnāt Leviathan herself she voluntarily working for them.

Hullo! I wanted to ask if you know about that box that Damian stole from Jay in Teen Titans Annual 1. Jay called it bigger 'than this whole crusade' and I think he had it stored at the Manor, where Damian took it after confronting Alfred (but I can't remember the issue so I can't be sure). Do you know if that box was shown anywhere else? I've read the entire Red Hood run but I can't recall it. Wonder if it's got anything to do with whatever Jay's planning right now that Essence wanted to stop?
As far as I can tell, the silver box from the Teen Titans annual has not appeared in any other comic. It really is mysterious, Iām not sure if itās something that is meant to come up again somewhere or just a generic McGuffin that was vague enough that it could be adapted for use in the future if anyone wanted to use it. It could be either.
If I assume that the box really is something--as in the box is planned, there is definitely something in it that was predetermined ahead of time--then I suspect it is something personal of Jasonās that only has value to him. I would suspect it is a personal momento of some kind either relating to Bruce or perhaps his birth mom. Remember, Jason got kicked out of the family rather abruptly so he had to leave any important momentos behind after the events of Issue #25 RHATO.
Alternatively, it is some All-Caste relic that pertains to fighting good vs. evil battles rather than generic criminal organizations. Likeā literal fate of the universeā level something. Other than something that literally has nothing to so vigilante-ing and is just personal, that is the only thing that fits the description of ābigger than this whole crusadeā, IMO. But really I think itās probably pictures of his mom and/or him and Bruce. Something like that. Iām not sure if we will ever see the box again. I hope we do, but who knows really. If we do, I suspect it may be in the Leviathan event, because nothing happening in Teen Titans with Damian has been hinted at in RHATO, itās being kept separate so far and I expect that to continue.
