Now let's be honest, I am very much the one track mind carnivore, so for any diversion I am always a little bit hesitant. But also I am not the boss 😋 As we drove past I kinda knew that we would be having lunch at @littlenichenosh in the great little town of Leura and it did not disappoint at all. The Beyond Burger is better than others "beyond burgers", the Recovery Burger is a tasty huge feast in itself and the Chessy Garlic Bread is just delish. And the custard tarts we had later were epic. There is no fault here. This is an announcement that the bushfire that ravaged Ruined Castle some hours ago are hitting for Katoomba, and there is a forecast wind change that will very likely make it head straight from Leura, next to Katoomba. It's the village Emily Rodda lives in. I hope she stays safe. Send prayers, if you believe in that folks. My favorite animator also lives there, and he is working on Twitch right now and keeping us updated on the status.
Also, the fire will most likely hit Katoomba. It's right at the cliff base right now.
There are huge helicopters out there that looks like trucks, bombing the fires with water, but if they are not successful, many people might need to relocate or build new housing.
Another horrible thing about this is that this fire might be one of those deliberately lit ones, I've heard.
The biggest issue that the fire can cause is ember attacks atm, but even that is dangerous to a degree. There are a lot of houses in the area nestled in the brush though, and they are more vulnerable than any houses. Just, keep watching the news and the area around your home, stay smart, stay safe, and leave immediately if the authorities tell you to do so!
