๐๐ผI had a request to share some tips for blending so here's a quick and dirty blending video for you letterers out there! 1๏ธโฃ Pick out 2-3 colors (they don't have to be the same hues or range from super light to dark...play with different shades and combos!) 2๏ธโฃ Start out with your lightest color for the base of you letters. (I usually do the whole word at a time with my base color.) 3๏ธโฃ Add your second color to ONE LETTER at a time to just a part of your letter. I usually do darker tones on top but you can do the bottom, middle or even just a side! One letter at a time will give you the best results as your ink will still be wet enough to blend. 4๏ธโฃ Repeat step ๐๐ป3๏ธโฃ with your final color but don't go as far into your letter as you did with your second color. 5๏ธโฃ Use your first color to pull the darker shades into your letter and blend (don't press too hard or add too much ink or your paper will start pulling up like mine did ๐). 6๏ธโฃ I used a Tombow blender to even out the blending. This isn't mandatory but I do use this guy ALL THE TIME. And if you notice my pens, you'll see it works with @marvyuchida Le Plume brush markers!! (It doesn't work with Fabercastell Pitt Artist though ๐) 7๏ธโฃ Repeat for each letter, one at a time. 8๏ธโฃ Add shadow and details if you want and voila! Blended lettering! . . . PS โจ I learned a lot from Alisse @alissecourter and Mhelanie @letteringbymhel for this technique so check their feeds out for more great lettering inspiration and tips! ๐ . . . . . @chloe.calligraphy #brushlettering #lettering #lettering #letteringvideo #video #blending #blendedlettering #blendingvideo #artvideo #tutorial #letteringhelp #leplume #marvyuchida #learntoletter
