Is it okay if I submit something I drew a little while ago? Also, It's not digital, because I don't own a tablet, so it's a picture of my drawing.
I'll be honest, your question has thrown me into a huge dilemma. On the one hand I would love to say YES, but on the other hand, the point of the project (and a note listed in the guidelines) is to create "new" works... :/
It's not a problem at all that it's not digital, so long as it fits the general ratio of the current size requirements (800x600 pixels). The problem is that it is not a "new" work created specifically for this challenge.
HOWEVER, if it fits the theme of "merlin doing magic" I am willing to make a compromise. First of all, if you'd like to participate for realsies PLEASE create a new work, and if that doesn't work out message me again near the end of the project (a few days before July 13th), and I'll let you know if I can include your art?
Basically here's my reasoning: I'll need to make a collage of these entries, putting them into a grid. It is highly possible that the number of submissions won't want to go too neatly into a grid. IF I can pad it out with other images, to make my arranging go smoother, I would love to do that.
HOWEVER. All images created specifically for this project will have priority, and previously created images will have priority in a "first come first serve" basis and will only be included if there is a need for them for convenience sake.
Perhaps that sounds a bit harsh, and I apologize if it does. But the point of this project is to stimulate the creation of new works in fandom, and if I were to accept old works, letsdrawmerlin would become more of an "archiving" sort of blog, while what I'm really trying to do here is foster a more active community and sense of excitement about the creation of Merlin-related artwork.
