As part of my partnership with @herbalessencesuk for their new Let Life In campaign I’ve been thinking about what 'letting life in' means to me, and for me that really is all about being a mum. Despite being a mum of two, I'll be honest and say that I don't always feel like a grown-up. Not really. It sounds silly but it's true and I reckon my parents feel the same (if my Dad's anything to go by anyway)! I personally spend most of the time wandering around feeling like my 16 year old self, just with better hair and brows thankfully, I think my joie de vivre might well be the reason my kids often refer to me as a 'fun mum'. Yes you need to have boundaries when it comes to raising little people (because no one wants a wild child right?), but my boys are my best friends and I'm proud of that fact. They're my world. Plus, feeling a bit like Peter Pan forevs (!) means I'm always the first one on the swings in the playground. 'Move out the way kids, Mama wants to play, too!' I was actually the first mum to encourage my fellow mummy friends to get on the swings when we used to meet up in the park with our newborns, back in the day. They initially thought I was a little cray but once on, they had an absolute ball swinging away! I'm all for releasing my inner child. I think that's the biggest lesson I've learnt since having kids. To keep letting go, and finding joy more. Thanks to my sons, I see the world anew through their eyes, and I get to play a heck of a lot more too. Do you feel the same? P.S good hair day c/o @herbalessencesuk whom I'm an ambassador for and who have HONESTLY given me the softest, most nourished hair of my life.
