So I enjoy video games. Now I'm not going to be that type of girl that is like, "OH MY GOD! I'M SUCH A NERD I LOVE TO PLAY CALL OF DUTY I'M SUCH A GAMER GIRL I LIKE BLOWING SHIT UP!" Truth is, I think I've only ever finished one video game in my life.
The Wii console was my first video game console, and we bought it when I was a freshman, so about 5 years ago. So I will accept that I'm not a pro at video games. I'm mediocre at Call of Duty, slow at Legend of Zelda (although Skyward Sword is okay for me), and pretty uncoordinated at Mario games. But the thing is, I fucking LOVE video games all the same, but I like watching other people play them. The amount of time that I devote watching other people do "Let's Plays" on youtube, is sickening. It's gotten to the point where I go TO BED listening to the LPers play Minecraft, Plants vs. Zombies, Legend of Zelda, Mario, etc. It's fucking addicting. I mean, I'm intrigued by the story lines, and I don't have the patience, time, or money, to do the video games myself. I know I'm cheap, but whatever, it's what I do.
Although I could just use all that time actually playing the video games, I am just in it for the story (just like a movie or a show) and I don't exactly need the extra frustration. Also, it's pretty convenient since I can do other work while watching/listening to the LPers play their game.
So it's a little bit hard when people ask if I'm into video games. I could talk about them all day, I know a good amount of video games and almost know what you're supposed to do in all of them (yes, I have watched the same LP multiple times also), so I could have a lengthy conversation. But then I have to say that I don't actually PLAY video games, I just watch other people play them online. Then I get the weird looks from the gamers...because, to them, what's the fucking point?
Hey, I enjoy myself while watching, it's a relaxant for me, and it makes me laugh :) I guess people are going to have to judge me for that.
