Show watchers who haven’t read the books need to stop telling the book readers how to feel right now. We just watched Lestat get character assassinated and now our ship (which we know is toxic but ultimately no where close to the end of that episode, and is actually very deep and loving for the most part, and has 46 years of building behind it) has also been tainted to the point where I’m seeing Loustat shippers get shit on.
Book readers who wanted to enjoy this show, and have been enjoying it, are mourning the fact that the adaptation we’ve waited so long for has done this. Stop shitting on us. We’re allowed to be upset about Lestat’s character assassination without show only people getting a superiority complex and telling us that we’re terrible people for loving the brat prince in the first place. The show Lestat is not book Lestat and it’s book Lestat we love, not episode 5 ending Lestat.
I have no issues at all if you haven’t read the books. Welcome to the fandom. I hope you enjoy it here. But if you haven’t read the books and you’re shitting on book readers because they love Lestat, that’s the issue.
If you haven’t read the books, you don’t know the Lestat that we know. That’s the Lestat that we love, that’s the relationship we ship.
Of course, there are some who hate book Lestat and book Loustat as well, and that's valid. But this is for Lestat fans. We're upset and that's valid too.
